Overview
The mechanical splice closure , was developed to house and protect direct or branch splices between cables that have the need for a high capacity for connecting pairs. This unit has been specially designed for underground installations but can also be used for aerial splice.
This unit has two end caps that can be cut and adjusted according to the different sizes and quantities of cables. Its plastic closure (body) provide a quick and easy re-entry . To open and close the CEMP, two plastic sliding clamping bars have been developed to ensure a sealed closure and easier maintenance.
To install the CEMP is necessary to obtain a special installation kit that allows a quick and reliable result for the fieldwork and also for the product’s maintenance.
CEMP covers several sizes as shown below:
Model Capacity |
CEMP 5/10 |
10 pairs – 200 pairs |
CEMP 5/15 |
10 pairs – 300 pairs |
CEMP 5/20 |
10 pairs - 600 pairs |
CEMP 7/10 |
600 pairs – 900 pairs |
CEMP 7/15 |
600 pairs – 1000 pairs |
CEMP 7/20 |
600 pairs – 1200 pairs |
CEMP 9/20 |
1200 pairs – 2400 pairs |
CEMP 9/20 E |
1500 pairs – 2800 pairs |
Advantages
- Specially designed closure for direct and branch splices for pressurized or non-pressurized networks.
- Can be used in aerial or underground installations.
- Versatile product which can use the most varied kinds of connectors available.
- Quick and easy installation for re-entry purposes.
- Highly reliable product with high resistance to severe environment conditions.
- Manufactured in plastic that does not suffer from corrosive materials.
- Superior fixing system, offering high level of mechanical strength and support for the cables.
- This means that the CEMP has a high resistance factor against radical mechanical efforts very common in high capacity networks.
